Doctor Who, Halloween, and Wonder

Before you stop reading this, I will try to make this short and sweet. Well maybe not sweet, that's kinda weird. So let's begin with the blog. The first thing that I am going to talk about is Doctor Who. If you don't know what Doctor Who is, it is a TV show from 1963. Not only is it an old TV show, it is the longest TV show ever aired. Also, it is British! The Doctor (his name is a common misconception, it is actually The Doctor, not Doctor Who) is about a two-hearted time lord from the planet Gallefrei (I think that is how it is spelled...) It is pronounced galifrey BTW. Anyway, he travels through time and space with his Time And Relative Dimensions In Space (TARDIS.) His TARDIS looks like a dark blue Police Box. The reason the TV show is called Doctor Who is because he introduces himself as The Doctor and people always ask "doctor who?" If you have anymore questions, a could description of the TV show can be watched here. The reason I am talking about this TV show is that the 50th Anniversary special is FINALLY COMING OUT! This episode is going to be where he regenerates. He regenerates when mortally injured and he changes his appearance (therefore they can change actors.)

Now I am going to briefly talk about Halloween. I am dressing up as Norman Bates! If you don't know who he is, look at my most recent blog. Anyway, this Halloween I plan to play Slender right before I go out. If you don't know what Slender is, where have you been for the past year?

Lastly I am going to be talking about a book called Wonder. We were assigned this book at school and it's really good! It is about a kid named August (Auggie) Pullman. Auggie has a lot of facial deformities that he was born with. The book is about struggling with differences and diversity. It is sad, happy, and overall very interesting. He is the only one that thinks that he is ordinary and lots of people make fun of him.

Sorry that this blog wasn't very interesting and I haven't written in a while, but I just can't think of anything to talk about...

PSYCHO!

Today's blog is going to be about a very famous horror movie/book from 1959-1960. This movie (if for some reason you don't read the title) is called Psycho. This is arguably Alfred Hitchcock's best work and everyone has heard of it. If you don't know what Psycho is, you probably know one scene from it: The Shower Scene! You know, the figure comes up, opens the curtain, violin music plays, the murderer stabs the woman with a butcher knife and she dies. In the book it is a little nastier, ATTENTION! THIS SENTENCE IS NOT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SENTENCE IN THE WORLD. In the book, the woman gets her head chopped of, nasty I know. Anyway, if you only know the shower scene part about it, here is a small summary of it. Keep reading for the regular summary and skip to the next paragraph for a non spoiler version. Okay, if you are still reading, you don't care about spoilers. Well, it starts with a woman named Mary, she works at a real estate office (I think.) Then a man comes in and wants to buy a house with 40,000 dollars in cash, which he does. The head of the office says to drop it off at the bank to Mary. She steals the money and leaves town, while driving she goes off course to Bates Motel. The head of which is Norman Bates who is an awkward man who still lives with his mother in a house up the hill to the motel. Mary ends up having dinner with Norman, finds out that his mother is pretty insane from him, and basically they just talk. Mary goes back to her room, takes a shower, and gets killed in the shower by someone with an old looking face. Then she is declared missing and a thief. Private detective Arbogast goes looking for her, ends up getting killed by "Mother" again. Norman then hides his mother in the fruit cellar where nobody will look. Then Mary's boyfriend, Sam, and sister, Lila, go looking for her. Long story short Lila hides in the house when looking for evidence. Sees "Mother" and she is a skeleton! WE GOT TWISTS. Then Norman comes down into the fruit cellar dressed as his mother and is about to kill Lila when Sam comes down and stops him. To increase suspense, I will not explain why that happened. >:D

If you are reading this, you do care about spoilers. Psycho is basically about a woman named Mary who does something illegal and runs away to Bates Motel where Norman Bates and his mother live. There is an amazing and well known twist at the end. So yeah that is basically what it is about.

By now you should have read one of the summaries or have already seen/read it. To finalize this blog, you should definitely check out Psycho. (The book is so much better and creepier!) Finally, if you want to watch some clips from Psycho, click here. BYE!

Why Should You Blog?

Hello Equatos! Today is a special blog sponsored by nobody! Seriously though, today is going to be great for all of you blog readers out there. Even if you aren't a blog reader, you should still read this. If you haven't read the title for some odd reason, this blog is going to be about why you should blog. Number one: it's fun! You can talk about whatever you like, there are no restrictions, and you don't get judged (most of the time.) I could make a whole blog about bananas. Now, it wouldn't be very interesting, but still. I could just ignore weird comments, try to make people care about bananas, (THEY HAVE FEELINGS!) or just keep you up to date about bananas. Another cool thing that I have yet to do is different segments. In my old blog on Tumblr, I had a segment about me debating random things. I was contemplating making a segment called Fantasy Court but decided not to. Another cool thing about blogs is that you can customize your page to your liking. You can use templates, put in gadgets and links, and make it so someone would actually want to read it. Mine is kind of boring, but I might change it. You can put polls and votes on the side as well. Lastly, you can spread news to everyone safely without providing personal information. IT IS SOOOOO COOL!

Are The Three Little Pigs Innocent?

Today we are going to talk about an interesting topic that was brought up in my school. Recently, we have been talking about the Three Little Pigs story. We started by reading the original story where the wolf eats the pigs and the 3rd pig tricks him with the turnips, apples, and the fair. I am pretty sure you Equatos know about that (BTW, Equatos won 3 to 1 (studiers).) But today, we are going to talk about two other things that we looked at. One thing we looked at is something that I am sure you have read before, it is the wolf's perspective. If you haven't, you can read it with only the text here. The other thing we looked at was actually an ad that TED thought was so, they posted it. You can watch it here. The rest of this blog will only make sense if you watch/read those, so do that now. Okay, let's start. The Wolf's perspective one is a little to out of the ordinary to make sense. There is no way that the wolf would be like: OH! Look, there is a dead pig there, might as well eat it even though I just ate one a couple minutes ago; it just wouldn't happen. Also, seriously? The press didn't like the sneeze and sugar story so they jazzed it up and put you in jail...really? So for me, that is out of the picture. Now the one that TED showed I thought could actually happen if A-Animals could do this and B- if this would actually happen. If you didn't understand the video one, basically the Three Little Pigs wanted an excuse to pay their mortgage, so they made up that whole story. Also, it said that the wolf had asthma. You wouldn't blame someone if they had asthma, would you? Anyway, I think if this actually happened then the one that TED had would be real, otherwise, this blog wouldn't exist. I will put a poll on my blog asking which one you think is real.

National Junior Beta Club

Hey Equatos!(Winner of the poll so far.) Today's topic is going to be about a club that I am in at school. It is called the National Junior Beta Club. This club is for "smart students" or students that show good character traits. Now the reason why I put quotes around smart students is because most of them aren't very smart. This is because last year, the requirement to get in was a 4.00 GPA. Now, the requirement is a 3.75 GPA. That small change of GPA added more than 80 members! Now the club is gigantic! As for Beta Club itself, it is mainly about learning about the future of your life. You do community service and other cool activities. Actually, by sometime in May you need to have done 10 hours of community service! At the end of the year you can do a Beta Club convention. The convention allows you to do all kinds of different subjects like making banners to a Battle of the Books. I just came back from a meeting and it turns out the original leader of it, who was very mean and rude, quit! This would usually be a bad thing, but it's good since she was mean and she got replaced by a really awesome teacher. Anyway, I just thought you would like to hear about what I am doing, so, yeah. As for that guy that responded to my blog post asking why my name is The Equation and other stuff, read my first blog.

Ignition/Everfi Stuff

Before I start I have wondered if I should all my audience something. The Equatos maybe...no? Whatever. Anyway, today I am going to be talking about this weird thing that I am doing in school. In my CSA II class (Computer Skills and Applications 2) we are doing this weird online course type thing called Ignition. It runs off the website Everfi, which I know none of. I think it is about technological jobs, careers, and other safety stuff. Anyway, in CSA we are doing Ignition. It is a weird online course that puts you as a teenager in the town of Ignition. Ignition has a social website called YouVille (which is basically Facebook) that you do a lot on. Throughout this course you are assigned the task of helping your friends and teacher(s) with all sorts of computer stuff. Stuff like cyberbullying and buying the right computer. At the beginning they explain that you are in charge of this concert that is happening at your school. The band is the Still Beating Hearts and they are very popular in Ignition. So throughout the learning times you randomly are given a task about the concert and you spend like a minute on it. After that, you just go back to the normal learning time. At the end of the course you have to help people out and get tickets to the concert. So I thought that I would just talk about that.

My First Blog!

This is my first blog! The name of my blog is the equation. This may not make any sense to any of you, but it was my nickname in fifth grade. You may have been directed here from my previous blog, and this is my new one. This old blog is here.  This blog won't contain anything so bye.
